Custom home with board and batten siding and heavy timber gable porch by Lane Built Inc.

Custom homes, dirt to doorknobs

One builder, the whole build.

We grade the lot, put the utilities in the ground, pour the foundation, frame the house and finish it. There is no handoff between a site contractor and a builder pointing at each other when the schedule slips, because it is the same company.

Thirty years of field experience, an owner on the job site, and a line-item budget written before the first trade is called. CSLB #811516.

How we work

01

Ground-Up Custom Homes

New houses built start to finish on your lot, from the grading and foundation through finish carpentry and paint, run by the same company the whole way.

02

Pre-Construction & Budgeting

Real numbers before the plans are stamped. Site feasibility, allowances, lead times and a line-item budget you can hold us to instead of a per-square-foot guess.

03

Design-Build

One contract for design and construction. We bring the architect and engineer in with us so the drawings and the budget are having the same conversation.

04

High-End Residential

Heavy timber, steel windows, slab kitchens, custom millwork. The details that take coordination and a superintendent who was swinging a hammer for twenty years first.

Custom home questions

What drives the cost of a custom home out here?
Site conditions, finish level and how steep the lot is. Site work on a hillside parcel in Placer or El Dorado county can move the budget before a wall goes up, which is why we price the dirt before anyone prices the kitchen.
Do I need plans before I call you?
No, and it is usually better if you do not. The cheapest changes are the ones made on a sketch, not after a permit set is stamped.
How long does a custom home take?
Plan on ten to sixteen months of construction for most homes, plus design and permitting ahead of it. Jurisdiction matters: Placer County and Loomis move at different speeds than Sacramento.
Do you handle the site work too?
Yes. Grading, underground utilities and the foundation are self-performed, which is the main reason our schedules hold.
